Moonshiners, formed by Gamblin’ Sam (vocals and blues harp), Susie Filipe (vocals and drums) and VĂtor Hugo (vocals and guitar), are a blues/rock band from Portugal. In 2013, they released a homonymous EP. 2015 began with their second EP, “Good News For Girls Who Have No Sex Appeal”, with special guest The Legendary Tigerman. In 2017, they performed in Holland, Hungary and Spain for the first time. In 2018, Moonshiners released their first album, “Prohibition Edition”, and toured Europe and America.

Two years after “Boot Legs” (2022), Moonshiners are back with a new album. “Monkey’s Poetry”, produced by The Legendary Tigerman, begins a new chapter in Moonshiners’s Blues-Rock sound. Throughout 6 new intimate and introspective songs, recorded at the beginning of 2023, at the Palanca Negra studios, in Lisbon, Moonshiners delve for the first time into an electronic aesthetic, using synthesizers and modulars. “Rock ‘n’ Roll Queen”, the lead single from “Monkey’s Poetry”, revisits the band’s distinctive viscerality, combined with the melodies and sound spectrums of the folk song.
